The plan was to spend the day with family at the Air Show. Since Caleb was sick and didn't sleep well once again, we got a late start and also ended up having to leave early. Loud airplanes, cold wind and lacking sleep wasn't the best combo for Caleb, but at least we were able to be there for a while.
Just look for the orange blanket and you'll find us. We walked through this huge airplane.I really enjoyed getting some time with Grandpa (but wishing for more still), as well as dad at this event. It was fun to hear from both of their knowledge of airplanes, since Grandpa used to fly and dad was in the Air Force.
We finally found Cindy and Brian who had gone ahead of us to watch as much as they could. Lots of amazing plane tricks and stunts!
I'm wondering if Matt got this photo when the pilot was showing his slowest speed, since these guys were so fast and difficult to get a picture up close. They were pretty amazing to watch....LOUD and super fast!
This was the beginning of Caleb starting to cuddle with us. We figured it would only last until he was better but since we've gotten home he seems to like it quite a bit! We're enjoying it while it lasts!
More fun in the air!
This is two planes right before they split apart.
We really wanted to watch the big show at the end with the 5 planes...not the Blue Angels but can't remember their names. We tried to get Celeb comfy, warm and ears covered, but when he wasn't able to go to sleep we ended up heading out. The walk to the car was pretty far so we were still able to see some of the show.
We took a few pictures on the way.
There they are....our view over the building! The best moment was when they flew right over our heads toward the airfield where the show was! Got a bit of adrenaline going! Wasn't quite the day we expected, but life seems to be that way since having a baby. :) We were able to spend a little more time with everyone that evening before we all had to leave the next day. It was great to be with family for a few days! We can't wait til Christmas to see everyone again!
