Sign of a Preschooler in Our House

I stopped a second the other day and consciously noticed the side of our fridge...and smiled...cuz I like that we have a little boy in our family! :)  (AND I'm pretty blessed and proud to be his teacher too)

...Birthday continued

We had a great morning with friends and family, and then headed home to rest.  Of course Caleb was too excited to nap but mommy and daddy thought otherwise. :)
Hmm, is he maybe spoiled a little bit.  He was opening presents all day.  First a package from Aunt Alison, Uncle Al and Abby.
Very focused on some new Peppa Pig stickers.  THANK YOU!!!
Soon after, we skyped with Uncle Brian and Aunt Cindy and opened a package from them.
And of course he needed to sing them a song...
...and show off some of his new toys!
AND later we also got to talk with Uncle Craig and Aunt Paulette!!!  Thanks to everyone for loving this little guy, not just through gifts but tons of love and being involved in his life...even from far far away!

Happy Birthday 3 Year Old!!!

We originally planned on an afternoon party in the park, assuming the weather would have cooled off, but a few days before we changed it to a morning party when we saw that it was supposed to be around 100 degrees.  SO glad we did, because by noon it was HOT!
Caleb loves ice cream more than cake, but since he can't have dairy at this point we improvised and had ice cream cone cupcakes.  I liked the idea since I didn't have to worry about the frosting melting! The kids decorated their own!  Simple and fun!
 Holding his THREE candles!
We even had a shaded area with a nice huge table!
Trying out a water balloon before everyone arrived.
Since Caleb LOVES Peppa Pig, we based the activities off of the show.  This was our "Jumping in Muddy Puddles" game.  We brought dirt and then the boys added water from the fountains.
Daddy demonstrated and everyone laughed and then ran to do the water balloons!
Thanks for the water balloon idea Alison!  Nothing to do with Peppa but it was a hit!  I should have brought more!  Caleb actually jumped on the "splat" and said it was a muddy puddle.
 YUM
Seaton is one of Caleb's older buddies.  He's now 4 and his parents are good friends of ours.
 "Happy Birthday to you...."
He needed some Mommy support to get through a song with everyone staring at him.
Liam is another buddy, about 3 months younger, from our church.  They play together during the meetings we go to every Monday night.
Of course Joshua, Caleb's cousin, and the rest of the family were there too.
Mr. Matt is one of Caleb's favorite people!  He's Brady's daddy.
Opening presents was more fun than I expected.  I forgot how kids get distracted with each new gift and forget about the others.  It could have taken hours if we didn't move things along.
He's still enjoying his Cookie Monster singing card from Oma.
It's becoming a tradition to have Seaton help open his gifts. :)
Todd and Scott showed up as well.  Scott is about 3 motnhs older than Caleb and they go to Sunday school together.  Their parents are also good friends of ours.
Katie is our good friend...and Liam again.
 YAY, Peppa pig!!!
Scott was so proud of the card that he made for Caleb.
We also played "Pass the Parcel," which is on Peppa as well, and according to Aunt Alison, is played at every kids part in England.
We played music and when it stops, the kid with the gift opened a layer to find a prize.  Then the game continued until everyone got a prize, and the last person got a bigger prize in the middle.
The punch balloons were the prizes and turned into a good photo opp......or so I thoughtl
It's hard to get several little boys to one place at the same time...and to do the same thing.
Everything is so distracting out here...
I just took several and hoped for a good one.
We got close but everyone looks so sad because they are worn out and HOT.
 Pretty funny I think
Last but not least, Caleb got his new scooter from his best buddy Brady!
He jumped right on and joined his oldest buddy, Gabe, for a ride around the party area!
And of course he must have eaten half of a watermelon with all the watermelon on a stick that he had by the end of the morning!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEET BOY!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

Pre-Birthday Fun!

We started the birthday celebration a day early for Caleb's birthday!
We first went to Caleb's favorite park with Brady- Castle Park!
Lots of fun and smiles with his best buddy!
Once it got too hot, we had and early picnic lunch so we could go have a treat at NuYo before nap time!  YUM!!!
I love how just a tiny bit of frozen yogurt with a few sprinkles can make a little boy's day!!!
We were the only ones there so the boys then let out their sugar energy by dancing to the music videos that were playing!  Too funny!
 And back to the treats!
Then we walked over to a fountain nearby to get the rest of the sugar energy out before heading home.
They walked back and forth over and over again!
Later, once we were home, I cut open the watermelon to make "watermelon on a stick," which was pretty much the only thing he was looking forward to for his party.  Of course it was the only melon all season that was over-ripe.  So I blended the whole thing to use for popsicles. Caleb was pretty happy about the whole situation!
Taste testing!
Then, before bed, he opened a present that someone had given him early!  He was so funny and re-wrapped and opened them over and over again!  Each time, acting just as surprised as the first time when he took the present out of the box!
He was pretty happy about the BIG gift too!
Ready for bed and lots of fun tomorrow! Last night of being a 2 year old!
