January

Here's a few more pictures of life in our little family...
The hat from Uncle Craig and Aunt Paulette is perfect for a walk out in the cold.
I absolutely love that Caleb likes to relax and cuddle now.  Sweet little boy.  I could hold him all day long.
Here's where he likes to spend "wind-down time" before nap and bed.  We've washed lots of dishes, prepped food for meals, baked, cleaned the house, gathered laundry, and all kinds of things together in the last few weeks.  Walking around the house and just relaxing in the sling gets him ready for sleep.  The last couple weeks have been long and tiring as we've been focusing on a new method to help Caleb sleep better and get on more of a routine for days, nights, eating, sleeping and activity times.  It's been rough at times but already paying off, and we're confident it will be worth the time and effort in the long run for all of us.
Daddy decided to try the sling out one afternoon as well!  I'm so thankful for a husband who is so involved in his son's life....Also, that when I'm at work, that I can rest in the fact that Caleb gets to be with his dad at home.  I wish I could be there all the time, but since I can't, this is how I'd want it.
Poor buddy.  Some things in life aren't so easy and fun...like pooping.  This is taken after a very difficult and extremely tiring time for him.....but he DID have victory!!! Lots of it! :)  (maybe someday we'll get a picture of how red his face turns while holding his breath and pushing).
Once again, I'm hopeless. I just couldn't decide which one to post, so you get them all.
The fun thing about the new schedule is that when we go out to do things now, Caleb doesn't just fall asleep in the car right away. Instead, he talks, smiles and interacts the whole time....well, until the end when it's time for a nap.
He fully entertained me the whole shopping trip.
Fingers are great for soothing gums that are starting to feel sore.
I think he's starting to really like purposefully getting our attention and making us smile.
He's quite accomplished at it already!

4 Months!

I'm done with trying to choose just 2 or 3 pictures.  I take so many trying to get at least a couple good ones and then end up with too many to choose from...and fun things I can do with them.  So I decided that if it's too boring for anyone, those people can just scroll through or skip it.  :)  So here's the 4 month old....
I don't think I'll ever get the lighting or camera settings right for the far back shot showing his size in the chair.  Not sure why it's been so hard.  Oh well...not the best pictures but you get the idea. :)
Close ups work a little better!

"Mommy, can I pleeeaaase stick my tongue out for this picture?"
 "No?  Oh, ok...."
"BUT MOMMY, I'll do it in a REALLY cute way...like this!"
"You still don't want me to?  Hmm..."
"What about if I do it like this so it doesn't look rude, THEN will you let me?"
 "YES?!  Did you say YES?....."
 :) :) :) :)
he keeps us smiling!

blog thoughts

While uploading these photos I got to thinking that for those of you who aren't immediate family you may be getting pretty tired of so many pictures of Caleb.  I just wanted to let you know, if you haven't already figured it out, that this blog has pretty much become my way to keep my family connected with their grandson/great-grandson/nephew since they can't be with us to be in his life.  So I hope they don't bore the rest of you too much.  I suppose they aren't if you're still checking this blog after 4 months of this. :)  I think if family were around, this blog might become something a bit different.  But for now, this is where we're at and I'm pretty thankful for the ability to share his life in this way.  So here's a few more random life pictures of the boy that I love more and more every day...
Caleb absolutely LOVES his daddy!  SOOOoooo many smile from just being together!
Getting stronger every day!  Still only randomly rolling..not too controlled yet.
Thanks to Uncle Al and Aunt Alison for the new outfit.  I thought it made him look older so had to take a picture to show you.

My Chair

Mommy and Daddy think I'm funny when I'm in my chair, but I don't really understand why.
The other day I was relaxing and while I scooted myself down to my favorite comfortable spot, I FOUND MY TOES!!!
(mommy just wants to add that she thinks they are super CUTE toes)
Then I decided that I liked the position...
So I just stayed that way for a while...quite a while!
 Why is THAT so funny!?!
And then another day I was just relaxing once again and mommy got the camera out, thinking I was pretty funny!
I'm just being my cute self!
I'm telling you, you should really try this chair out!  It's especially comfortable if you shove your head back into it as hard as you can while grunting and sticking your chest out!  I LOVE it!
Gotta love a great chair...even on those days you don't quite feel put together!!!

Day in Sacramento...part 2

A few more pictures from our day in Sacramento.
Keeping warm in his stroller while walking around outside.
After seeing the capital building from the outside many times, it was fun for me to finally get to look around inside.
It was also fun to hear Matt's dad talk about the years that he worked in these very rooms.
I had to take advantage of the room with the green carpet and get some pictures of my guys...i like the look of green and love even more the look of these two... :)
And the Johnson Family.  Missing them already!
More cuteness...the first leaf he's ever gotten to inspect!
We ended the day back in Folsom at Chicago Fire for some good pizza and conversation!
