Happy Birthday Brady

Brady turned TWO last week so we had a special day!!!
We first went to the zoo train!  The boys weren't quite sure about going on the train so we sat and watched first.  I think they were more excited about seeing the Garbage truck to by than riding the train!  Through the rest of the morning they also saw their other favorites....a mailman, UPS truck, school bus, motorcycle and firetruck!!!
Once we watched it Brady decided that it was worth a try.  Caleb wasn't sure but realized I was going with him so came along too.
He was pretty happy right when we started but the rest of the trip looked pretty serious.
Caleb didn't take his hands off of his ears from the time we got there until we had walked to the park.
 Hmm....at least I'M having fun! :)
After the train we headed over to the park, and on the way found a peacock to follow.
WAY over on the other side of the playground we noticed a horse camp, which the boys enjoyed watching as well.
They even found a fence where the horse came right up next to them. :)  After lunch in the park, we went to get some ice cream!! I didn't think to take my camera in so the pictures are on my phone.  Need to figure that out still.  We had a great time celebrating a wonderful boy!  I can't imagine him not being in our lives!  Happy Birthday Brady!  We love you!

Best Buds

Can you tell that these guys have gotten pretty darn close....
Play together
Drink Together
 They wrestle
Silly Together (this is best up close)
 Copy each other
I think I'm pretty lucky to have this guy...
....and this guy almost every day!
I hope they get many more years together!
I know they'd be perfectly happy with that!

Happy Birthday Matt

Matt turned 35 this year and we celebrated with at the grill! :)
I surprised him with Mom's cherry pie, but with a different crust....and I will NEVER use butter again.  I don't care how bad shortening is for you, I'm making mom's crust from now on! :)  Nothing compares. :) Some things just don't matter if they are unhealthy.  That's that.
Caleb painted a box and filled it with rocks (his favorite gift for everyone lately.)
And Matt made dinner on the grill, which he fully enjoys doing!
Caleb enjoying some of HIS favorites (berries) while waiting!
 Yum!!! and YUM it was!!!
 Happy birthday to my man!

Shooting Practice

Evan was here the other day, and what better person than a special ops (I think that's what it's called) military man to train Caleb how to shoot a gun! :)  We got the toys out for his daughter and found our nerf gun!  It didn't take long for training to commence!
 Concentration...
 He was SO excited!
Now to train him on what to shoot and not shoot! :)

Random Happenings

Some random pictures of things going on around here.
We've finally settled into a routine with our schedules and being parents to be able to have people over more often.  I suppose a lot has to do with my job change as well. :) This is the daughter of one of our friends who performed the "ABCs" with Caleb before leaving!  Pretty cute!
Another time just relaxing by the pool after some good grillin' from Matt!
Our little boy, getting taller by the day.
He enjoyed this bike that was passed onto us for a few days.  We passed it on to someone else since he already has a bike and it's huge anyway. He LOVED it though.
 Bedtime story time.
Naptime story time??!?!  Caleb often doesn't sleep for naps anymore, so I just tell him he has to be quiet and can't come out til we get him.  I put the chain on the door (since he can unlock it and I don't want to worry), put ear plugs in, and go take a nap.  Here's what we found after his nap the other day.  ALL his books in a huge pile on the floor.  At least he was quiet. :)

Fist S'Mores

A few weeks ago we went to a friends house and after a good meal we made some S'Mores!
Caleb wasn't quite sure about it all but since a marshmallow and chocolate were involved he endured the smoke and mommy and daddy excitement!
 We have a winner!!!
I think it will be better on a real campfire someday though!
Good time with friends.  Makes us want to move to a more rural area as well. Or at least go camping sometime soon!

Folsom Zoo with Boys

I figured we'd try out the Folsom zoo, even though Caleb wasn't too interested the first time we took him.  Turned out this time wasn't much different, but we still had a good time.
I was personally excited to actually see a Peacock showing off.  I don't know if I've ever seen this before.  I ran to get a picture, thinking he'd put them down, but he was determined to get the girl and we ended up leaving before the show was over.  The boys thought it was pretty neat too.
 Too bad I didn't have a better camera. :)
I LOVE this. The SAME bench that Caleb ran to "take a nap" on last time.....here's the picture....
Too funny.  I guess it proves that either by this time the zoo is just TOO boring, or it's been too long and it's time to sleep.  :)
 Add "ROAR" at this point!
Quick stop at the park and then headed home. I think we need to try the Sacramento zoo next time.
