RT- Day 4cont.- The Grand Canyon!

My anticipation kept mounting as we got closer and closer.  Finally, after walking a short trail, there it was!
We both agreed that it just wouldn't even be worth trying to capture what we saw...so we took some pictures, but if you've been there, you know that they are just a tiny glimpse at something FAR greater in person!
 God is an amazing artist!
Caleb checkin' things out....for some reason he stuck out his tongue a lot on this trip.
Matt really wanted to go down to this point, but being a daddy gives second thoughts to doing more dangerous things.
So he enjoyed the view from on top.
Caleb was napping at this point, so just us for this picture.  I like it!
When he woke up again, he was always right out in front of the stroller enjoying the ride!
He loves having the wind in his face!  Once again, adding more joy to our trip than what we already had!
Between stops along the way, he started to practice waving.  The talent only lasted for a couple days and has yet to come back.
 More views....a little different.
If you can't tell, as I said before, Caleb absolutely loved seeing new places and people.
The day was super windy, but instead of making him upset, it brought out more smiles than before.  Absolute bliss for our little baby boy!
Once again, he made friends everywhere we went, smiling at people, waving, laughing and interacting.
We constantly had to stop so he could say hi.  We sat and talked with this lady for a while.
I think Caleb thought she was a Grandma #3. :)
When we wanted to keep him awake a little beyond his tired point, we pulled out random items from a bag that we brought.  Things like this packaging kept him busier than a toy at times.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pictures!  Daddy and son exploring together and enjoying God's creation!
You can see the Colorado River in this picture.
As we drove away, out of the tree, the landscape changed a bit.  Can you imagine discovering this for the first time!  Truly an amazing place!
Next, a couple hour drive to our hotel through Indian lands.  We thought it was pretty sad that this area was what was given to the Indians.  It's incredibly barren and dry.  All along the rode were what reminded me of the shacks that I saw on a mission trip in Tijuana.  Perhaps there are other places that we didn't see that were nicer...we hope so.

We stayed at our least favorite place this night, and then got ready for what we THOUGHT would be a long, boring drive to Moab, Utah.
