Laundry Baskets

Caleb stole my laundry baskets!!! (please note that these are Matt's and my baskets all they way back in college.  Yep, still have the same ones)
One for a car!  SO much fun!
The other for a walker...and snack table in this picture!
I figured out how to resolve the issue!

i LOVE my little baby!!!

I found a good use for Caleb's tie from Uncle Craig's wedding....just clipped it to a white T-shirt, add some jean shorts and he's ready for church! :)  I wanted to do his hair too but couldn't find the gel.  We had to take a couple pictures!
 I love this guy
I ALWAYS hear how much Caleb looks like Matt, which is wonderful and I'm fine with that, but I kinda like this picture just because I can see at least a little likeness with me...or maybe it's just that we're making the same face. :)  Anyway, I like it. :)
We really do have fun together!  He is such a great boy!
I LOVE YOU CALEB!

Neighborhood Park

There's a park really close to our home that we finally remembered to go check out the other day.  It was pretty hot so it was a short trip, but we still had to take a few pictures of some fun new experiences.
WAY up high with Da-Da.  Caleb wasn't too smiley on this adventure since he seemed to be just taking everything in.
It's fun to think that someday soon he'll be running around these places on his own, and we'll be hoping he doesn't break an arm.
 Still no smile.
 Oh look, Daddy's sunglasses!
 And we have a smile!!!!
YES, water please!  We can always tell if Caleb is too hot since his cheeks turn bright red.  He loves his sippy cup now that he knows how to use it.

SINK

Okay, so once again I CAN'T PICK just one!  So you get ALL of them.
"Oh, Hi little boy!  You like to sit in sinks too?"
 "Hi, Hi, Hi!"
You're so handsome!  I like talking to you!
Here, do you want to try my toothbrush!
Momeeeeee....I didn't know you were watching me!

A Bit MORE of Life...

"Hi "(BTW- I'm really good at saying that now), it's me again, here to tell you a little more about my life lately.  Now that I'm getting closer to a year old, I keep pretty busy, so I thought you'd like another update.  So, in no particular order...
Here's me Saturday morning after Daddy put some stretch pants on me that someone gave us.  Mommy said she'd never make me wear them even though they are brown, but Daddy thought he should try them on along with my hat from when I was a little baby.  They laughed at me and I just kept pulling the hat off.
Like I said before, I really like to empty out drawers and cabinets.  This is our DVD case which mommy and daddy let me empty out every day.  Actually, I usually just take out maybe 20 cases or so, and it's REALLY FUN!!!
I've learned to lounge! :)  Sometimes I watch a little video before my nap to help me calm down.  I was pretty tired this morning so mommy gave me a pillow to lay on! :)
 Just chillin' because I can!
I really love my giraffe.  I used to only want it at bedtime, but now I like to take it with me at other times.  Mommy and Daddy say that we need to wash it since it stinks so bad.  I always chew on it, so I guess it has a weird smell, but I don't see what the big deal is.  Mommy is a little worried that if she washes it, it will get ruined or I won't like it without the smell.  Hmm, I wonder what she'll do.
We like to listen to music and dance in the mornings but when mommy played music on the TV the other day I was really confused.  I even pulled off the cover to see the picture (look at me standing without leaning on anything.  I'm getting good at that too.  Still not walking yet though)...but there wasn't one.
So I checked behind the TV for where the sound was coming from....still haven't figured that one out yet.
I'm starting to sit long enough to read a whole book now.  I just think they are more interesting than I used to.   Maybe someday I'll be able to read by myself!
Here I am, about to go to bed.  We love cuddling before I get into my crib.  Mommy and Daddy think I am looking really tall here.  Nope, I'm not a tiny little baby anymore!  Until next time...."HI"

Spoon

I realized the other day that Caleb is never going to learn to use his spoon if we always just give him finger food.  So I pulled out a bowl and instead of dry Cheerios, we did it the big person way and had cereal with milk and pulled out the spoon!  What fun!
This is the first day, and each day following he's been less interested in trying to use the spoon the right way and far more interested in flinging things onto the floor or playing with it, his food and the bowl in any new way he can think of! Oh well.  A step at a time!
Yay!  He got it into his mouth without any help!  I think he's only done this a few times in a few days!  He like to hold the spoon and pick the Cheerios off of it and put them into his mouth.
This is my favorite!  Breakfast is SO MUCH FUN!!!
Hmmm, I wonder what this feels like!
So much to discover and learn at this age.  I really do enjoy watching him grow up!

Clouds

Over the last few months I've found myself really enjoying clouds.
These are from the other morning outside of our apartment.

Just a Bit of Life

Well, I'm getting older now so I thought you might like to see some ways that I spend my days lately.
Mommy and Daddy don't want me to watch lots of TV, but they DO let me watch some really cool videos now and then that I REALLY like.  They have pictures of all different things, there are kids playing, dancing and singing, puppets being silly, colors, numbers and all kinds of things.  Mommy took pictures of me watching it the other day because she thought I was funny.  As soon as she turned it on I stood up and intently watched without moving for a long time.  For some reason I had my shoulders up too.  If you can't tell in this picture....
...here's one that you should be able to.  :)  Looks like I lost my neck.  I think I look pretty pitiful here, but I think it's because Mommy disturbed me by calling my name.  But it was ok.  I just finished watching after she took the picture.  I usually get to watch it when I need to relax, if I don't feel well, or if mommy or daddy have something really important they need to get done.
Here I am walking down the hallway with my sippy cup.  I'm pretty good at getting around by myself, but I still only walk if I can hold someone's hand or have a wall or something to lean on.
This is me after church one Sunday.  My schedule doesn't work very well with church so I'm always really tired on our way home.  I usually like sleeping in the car though, except yesterday when I cried all the way home.  Mommy is glad that is rare because it made her sad.
Check me out!  :)  TWO remotes at one time!  I love playing with the remotes .  I even showed daddy a setting on the DVD player that he didn't know was there.  I'm lucky they haven't taken them away yet.  Sometimes I even crawl around the house holding both of them.
Not the best picture of me, but here I am, about to pull everything out of my dresser.  I think it's great that I can open doors and drawers now.  Mommy and Daddy like to let me explore and discover things as long as I'm safe.
I crawl back and forth down the hallway, in and out of rooms.  I especially love it when I get to chase mommy or daddy into a room and then go find where they are hiding.
I'm really interested in the broom when it's out.  I tried helping but it's too big for me, so I helped vacuum instead.  I don't get to go in the sling much anymore, so I get really excited when I see that mommy is putting it on.  I'm still not too sure about the vacuum once we're finished and mommy puts me down.  Last time I sat in daddy's lap for a while and finally ventured out to touch it.  I think it's safe.
I really like pillows these days.  Whenever I see one I go and try it out.  This is actually the couch cushion after mommy put the cover back on.
I love climbing too!  Just wait til I can walk and get around more!
Here I am on my 11 month birthday!
Mommy took this to show my red cheeks, but the picture doesn't show it too well.  We think it's from lemon juice in the hummus I ate, because it happened back when I ate applesauce that had lemon juice in it too.
One day I fell asleep with daddy on the way home and I was so tired that he set me down once we were home and I didn't even wake up.
I usually only sleep in my crib....or if mommy or daddy are holding me sometimes.
Just me hanging around the house.  I love playing with whatever I can find. :)  I'm pretty happy most of the time, especially now that my digestion issues are doing better.  I sleep better and so that means mommy gets more sleep too.  We're all happier. :)  There's much more to tell, but these are just a few random pictures I wanted to share.  Mommy says she'll post some videos soon to show me walking and learning to say hi. :)  So much fun around here!

In the Kitchen

I think Caleb's favorite place to play is in the kitchen!  I'm glad, since I spend time there cooking, getting lunches ready, doing dishes, eating, etc. Caleb keeps me entertained!
Yes, mom and dad, I know this is using electricity (it's ingrained into my head since childhood to close the fridge door quickly), but we decided it's worth letting it stay open for a bit longer so Caleb has something extra to do....and he LOVES it!
He grabs what he can and pulls it out onto the floor!  What fun!  And of course he has to try eating this and that.  His favorite new item to gnaw on, which he first discovered while grocery shopping, is a whole cucumber.  Nope, he won't eat it cut up, but the whole thing is great!
Caleb even tries to help me with cooking sometime!  :)  He's crushing crackers for me here.
And just as fun as the fridge, if not better, are the doors and drawers to open and explore!  Of course we had to move all items that were sharp or unsafe, but that's no big deal.  He surprises me with what he tries to pull out and hold, even heavy items I would guess he couldn't manage.  The funniest yet was when he pulled out a heavy blender and just stood there holding it, not sure what to do next.  The big frying pans are pretty funny too.
"Look mom!  The door opens REALLY far!"  I think the only mishap we've had so far is when he ate a popcorn seed.  I saw it going in and wasn't fast enough to stop him.  Oh well.  I'm sure it made it thru. :)
