Since the family I nanny for went on vacation, it pretty much gave us an automatic time for our family winter get-away! We had some credit card points saved up to pay for a hotel, Matt found a good one, so we payed for the gas and had a great time!
Caleb was in love with Curious George at this time (he has since moved on) and to my delight, he especially enjoyed the an episode where George makes sand castles at the beach. This made it extra exciting getting to see the sand and the ocean for himself! We got into town in the evening so went into town and found a little sandy area nearby. Climbing on the rocks was more of a highlight than the sand I think!
He was pretty nervous about the tide coming in until we were able to walk in it on day three.
LOVED these flowers!
We pretty much just watched Caleb run around and explore for an hour. It was nice to just slow down and relax without an agenda. This seagull hangs out by the clam chowder cart. They even have a name for it. At first we didn't see it and then suddenly noticed it right above Caleb's head!
First taste of GOOD chowder! He approved! It was too cold outside so we headed to dinner at Bubba Gumps. My first time and I loved it! YUM!!!
We wandered across the street and found a new candy store. If you can see our faces, it's hard to tell which of us is more serious about picking something good for dessert!Caleb picked a mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and called it his "cupcake." Again, very satisfied!
Back at the hotel, I learned that there is no need to bring toys on trips for Caleb. The phone and luggage rack entertain him for hours.
