I've never felt weird about any age until this one. I've just never imagined myself as 40, since that's only how old my parents are, and 35 seems closer than ever! How did this happen? Now I understand what everyone meant by always seeing yourself as younger but the mind never catching up to reality. Funny.
The day of my birthday this year was similar to the day I was born...RAIN. YUCK! Matt planned the perfect gift. I woke up to him in his swim suit and flip-flops. I walked into the hall and found mine, and into the living room where Hawaiian music was playing on the computer.......my bright colored towel was out, the happy-light turned on...
....a basket of treats, a card, wind up frog and crab, a pineapple and a coconut with a candle in one of the holes....
...and a palm tree and two suns on the wall! Perfect! I think I'd like to wake up to this every day!
Caleb got busy getting into everything. While I was trying to get a good picture with the lei on, I didn't realize he was taking a bite out of the candle. This is blurry but you can see his reaction! :)Then the candy...he chewed a hole right through the middle leaving it looking like a mouse had found it.
Of course he needed a snack since we wouldn't let him eat the candy, so next he tried some crackers.
They were a bit hard, so he filled his mouth and just walked around like a chipmunk with his cheeks full. :)
And my favorite...some nice shades for the sun!
Other than Hawaii, I also got to open gifts from mom and dad, some friends brought some flowers and a card over and we enjoyed a movie with ice cream! It was a good day for the most part! :) I feel blessed and loved!

Happy (belated) birthday, Cheryl! Welcome to the 35 club. I agree. It's a big year.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to go on a trip to "Hawaii" for your birthday. How creative!
