Boys and Trains!

Brady and Caleb love playing with trains, and this Christmas it became clear that boys never get too old for trains! :)  The "boys" pulled out Dad's old electric train set from the attic and got them working while Caleb was napping!
I have to admit that I'm glad for the newer trains that DON'T deal with electricity!  It's kinda crazy to have to tell Caleb to be careful so he doesn't shock himself!
Yeah, someone is having some fun!
It actually took quite a bit of trying and fixing and re-fixing to get things going well.  The train even had steam that came out of the smoke stack and a light in the caboose!
Hmm....who is enjoying the train more? :)
He got to try it out too!
I love this picture.  It is such a good memory of family just relaxing together and enjoying ourselves.  A game of Cribbage in the background and fun with the train in the front!
....and some popcorn from the big Christmas can too!
I think we'll have to consider which toys that we should save once Caleb is done with them for the future! :)

Glow Stick Dance!

Caleb and I grabbed a couple of packages of glow sticks while Christmas shopping so we could have a dance party with everyone at Grandma and Grandpa's!
We were super happy that everyone joined in and we all had a great time!
It's a unique form of art!
Aunt Cindy and Uncle Brian getting into the groove!
This is my favorite!  Can you tell I like bright colors!? I can't decide just a few once again.
 Group Photo!
 Grandpa!
Truly a memory we'll never forget!  How many people have glow stick dancing for Christmas!?  We have a pretty cool family! :)

Hangin' Around the House!

A couple of days after Christmas I realized that we had hardly left the house the whole time we were at Mom and Dad's.  It just proves how we had great company and were very ready to relax. :)
Just a random picture of Cindy.  I loved her outfit and at one point she was holding her scarf up and it looked like a mustache.  I just thought it was funny. :)
Random dance break with Grandma!
Mom opening birthday gifts for her 60th this year!!!
Some brain stretching for Matt as her figured out how to take apart and put together a crazy wood puzzle that Dad had from Grandpa Boersma.  I think he was the first one to every actually do it!
We finally got to skype with Craig, Paulette and the boys!  We sure missed them but it was nice to at least get to connect a little on the computer.
Caleb and Grandpa playing around with taking silly pictures together!
Of course some singing and dancing time!
Skyping with Uncle Al, Aunt Alison and Abby in the UK.
Creating art with the remains of the "dance party" glow sticks from previous night.
The guys played a mean game of JENGA!
Dad showed Caleb the joys of popcorn popping and eating!
And lots of time reading together.  Mom had books from when we were kids and Caleb really enjoyed them.
It SNOWED just enough to enjoy watching it for a while, but sadly, it didn't stick.
Grandma and Grandpa gave Caleb a special book which they recorded themselves reading before we left.  It's now his favorite and he listens to it at least once a day!

I don't have a picture of it, but one thing I was able to do is catch up on blogging!  Almost done!  It's hard getting time on the computer when there's a sweet boy that wants to play all the time, so I took advantage of him having other people to play with.  Thanks also to Mom, Dad and anyone who cooked and did dishes while I relaxed.  THANK YOU!!!

Our Family

Completely on accident....honest!....we matched perfectly on Christmas day!  So, why not TRY to get  a family picture?!  Well, we tried.  Nothing spectacular but it's us! :)
 Caleb's silliness!
 Kisses!
break time...pictures are NOT their favorite thing to do
2nd try before we lose them completely
I like these two, but still not just right for me.  Oh well.
I guess we need to plan it someday with a professional.
I love my family!  Merry Christmas from us! LOVE to everyone!
