Diaper Gift

God most definitely provides!  We came home the other day and found a huge box of diapers at our doorstep.  It's a huge blessing since finances are tight and we always need diapers.  We've also been given clothes from a friend who has a boy about a year older than Caleb, so at this point we have most of the things he'll need til he's maybe a year old!
Caleb loved the huge box and found the picture of another little baby quite interesting.
We thought he looked a lot like the baby on the box...but of course much cuter! :)
This is his new thing...sticking his tongue out and leaving it! :)  I'm jealous of his good posture!

The Move

After 3 years in our apartment, we think the longest either of us has lived anywhere since high school, it's once again time to move.  It was actually a hard parting for a few reasons...lots of big windows facing the right direction for sun to come in, a wonderful patio where we enjoyed plants, birds, and bbq, and the location right next to beautiful walking trails.  But with Caleb growing and sleep being disrupted, as well as a need to save some money, we decided it's time for two bedrooms.
The significance to this picture...our new place doesn't allow BBQs.  Matt cooked up some amazing burgers a couple nights before the sad parting of the grill.  We found a temporary home for it at our church, where we're actually looking forward to having BBQ gatherings with friends this summer!
It's true...give a box to a boy and they'll be happy for a long time! No toys needed!
Daddy always makes Caleb smile!
Our life looked a little messy for a week or two.
Moving Day!!!  We started at 8 Saturday morning and had lots of help from church friends...even kids pitched in!  Caleb hung out quite contently in our room most of the time.
It rarely rains here, but of course the most rain we had all winter came the week before our move.  We ended up renting a U-Haul, but people still filled up pickups and SUVs.  It took about 3 hours to get everything moved from our old place to the new one.  We're SO thankful for all the help!
Beth came over and hung out with Caleb so I could try to start unpacking a bit.  I didn't get much done but Caleb sure had fun!  He discovered himself up close in the mirror!
LOVE this picture!  After a hard day of moving!  You'd think Caleb helped too!
Next, time to unpack.  Cale thought the bags and boxes were pretty fun to explore.
Poor guy, though...it's taken some time to transition to a whole new place.  We had a rough first week getting to sleep and staying asleep, but things are starting to get a bit better.  Still not as smooth as before, but it's to be expected with teething, eating new foods, getting older and all that comes along with it.
The day after moving we headed back to the old apartment to clean.  Opa Chuck helped while Caleb napped and then they hung out together!
Ready to go home later that night.  He thought that sitting in the front seat of the car was pretty fun!
Please pray for us.  We're thankful for the new place but it's had some challenges.  We're working on getting the carpets re-cleaned or possibly replaced or removed.  Pray for patience and perspective.  COME SEE US!!! We need new memories to fill this new place.

Caleb Lately

"Oh, hi mommy...it's okay for me to rip this up right?
Give him a magazine and he's happier than with a toy!
I think he likes that he can move them around as well as make lots of noise with them!  So much fun!
 Dots and balls...just looked like a picture I couldn't pass up! :)
 it's fuzzy, but he's such a cutie, even when he's fussing...sometimes. :)
He usually wakes up talking and happy.  I realized I didn't have any crib pictures and he spends so much time there that I figured a captured memory was a good idea.
Looks like he might follow in Grandma and Aunt Cindy's footsteps and be a reader someday. :)  We'll see.

Joshua is 5!

Last week we enjoyed going to the Parkins house for Joshua's birthday party.
Zoe loves taking care of her cousin any time she gets a chance.
Matt took Joshua to McDonalds for a Happy Meal a couple weeks ago, in which he got a Star Wars toy.  Surprisingly, after years of his favorite thing being Thomas the Tank Engine, he suddenly decided that Star Wars is the best thing of all!  Of course this means lots of new Star Wars toys, including this Light Saber.  Caleb thought it was pretty cool too!
It's fun to see Caleb participating in the watching of present opening.  I remember sitting right around the birthday person when I was a kid.
Matt passed down his Ewok cup to Joshua, who was very proud to get it!
Happy Birthday Joshua! We love you!

Got Milk...or soda?

Aunt Cindy Came to Visit!!!

Aunt Cindy came to visit a couple weeks ago and we had SUCH a great time!
I was so happy to see her and she seemed to like seeing me too! :)
She really made me laugh a lot!
I just liked being with her too...whatever we were doing.
She even fed me some new food....I loved it...Sweet Potatoes!
I really liked being with her, even when she was working on something else.
It really looked interesting but I'm not quite sure what was going on! :)
We hung out a lot while mommy worked on packing!  I think Aunt Cindy is really pretty! :)
She's really nice too.  I think I could play with her every day if she lived here.
Mommy said that she really liked having her here too....we all wish we got to see each other more often.  Thank for coming Aunt Cindy!  We love you and miss you already!

Into to Baseball

The other day Caleb was very interested in Daddy's hat...
 ...so...
Daddy was happy to let him try it on!
...and of course this was a perfect opportunity for Daddy to introduce Caleb to a very important sport...
...and team (Notice the hat changed.  It's an A's hat)!
Daddy is looking forward to many more times together with his son and the hat, ball and eventually the bat!  And not really so much about the game but more about time together...Daddy/Son time!
