Clothes

I died laughing the other day when I came out to find Caleb in this...
Matt said that he picked his outfit, and Caleb was clearly VERY pleased with his outfit and ready to go play outside.
 Getting UN-dressed.
He really wanted to wear his hat the other day!
I SO wish I had a quality camera to capture his cuteness.
There were so many great expressions but horrible pictures.
And once again, Caleb choice of clothes.  He brought 3 shirts and asked to put them all on.  I helped him and even though they weren't even all the way on, he walked away very pleased and continued to play happily. :)  I'm curious what he'll like wearing when he gets older. :)

Me Lately

Hi, it's Caleb!  Just here to tell you what I've been doing lately.
Mommy bought me some markers, which I was excited to use and drew my first picture!  Do you like it?  Mommy did the middle part but I did the rest.  I also learned that I'm not supposed to use them on the fridge.  :)
Mommy thinks that my scrunchy nose and brow face is funny, but I'm not supposed to use it all the time.
I use it a lot lately because I'm trying to figure out all of these feelings that I have.  It seems like fussing and trying to get attention isn't working.  I don't understand how Mommy and Daddy can tell when I'm really upset and when I'm just trying to get attention.  They are smart.  I'm trying out hitting a lot now.  They don't seem to like that very much, OR when I scream and squeal.  They are proud of me, though, because I'm learning to say "no" politely when I don't like something instead.  Everything is so complicated!  Whew!
Don't worry, I still smile a lot too!
I love my car and I'm finally learning to drive it by myself just a little bit!
I also really like climbing stairs and I'm super proud when I walk down steps too.  I say "help" and mommy or daddy come over and hold my hand as we go down.  It's so much fun!
I get REALLY excited about some things and laugh really loud!
"Peace Dude.  Time to watch the tube!"  LOL!  I'm not actually watching TV or doing a peace sign, but Mommy said it looks like it (I had actually just put a pear in my mouth and was just holding the remote for fun).  I got a new chair that's my size and it's one of my favorite things.  I sit in it all the time and can even move it wherever I want to around the house.
So that's just a little about me.  Here I am at the park.  Life is pretty good these days most of the time.  I like to say hi to most everyone I meet, but I still feel safest with Mommy and/or Daddy close by.  I try saying all kinds of words and love being outside and anywhere I can discover something new!
There's so much more but that's all for now.  Just thought I'd say a quick hi!

Like Daddy

Caleb LOVES...ADORES his Daddy.
The other day he found one of his shirts and asked me to help him put it on.  He waited patiently as I buttoned it up and then walked around proudly!
Later, when Matt was home with him, they took a matching picture!
My poor boys....they don't just share shirts but sickness as well.  Can you tell they didn't feel too well?
Caleb took advantage of Mommy feeling bad for him and got a ride around the house on a blanket.

Lately he also loves putting Daddy's hats on....

 .....and walking around....
...even though he can't see.  :)  Pretty funny!  He seems just proud to be like Daddy.
This picture cracks me up.  :)  No, he's not asleep under the hat.  He just put it on and sat proudly as Daddy played.  He has a few hats that fit, but he can't put them on and take them off like he can with Daddy's.  Oh well, he's happy!
Just imagine that he's singing opera to the music! LOL!

Play Date

We often end up talking with other little kids and their mommies wherever we go.  A few weeks ago we were at CVS and hit it off with Gemma and her Nanny, Liz, in the toy aisle.  Since then we've met a few times for play dates at the park.
We're looking forward to joining a play group that a friend of mine from church is part of.  They meet several times a week to do a variety of things.  I'm sure we'll have stories to tell soon.  :)

forgot one!

"I Can't HEAR You"

Caleb's new method of avoiding something that he doesn't want to do...
Seems kind of like an ostrich sticking his head in the sand.
Mommy: "Caleb, time to come inside please."   Caleb: Head goes to the ground and he just stands there!
LOL.  Long enough to take lots of pictures.
Daddy:  "Caleb, time to come get ready for bed."  Caleb: Head goes down.
 I can't HEAR you!
I'd have so many more pictures of this (even in stores) if I didn't have to look for my camera and wait for it to turn on.  Silly boy.  Hmm, maybe WE should try this method out at work.  :)  I can just imagine! :)

Sleepy Boy

Caleb never sleeps anywhere but his crib or in the carseat, and usually when he falls asleep in his carseat we just transfer him to his crib.
The other day he was worn out and fell asleep in the car too early, which can mess up his entire day and night.  Soooooo, I tried waking him up as I got him out of the car...but it didn't work.  And then decided to just lay him on the couch and put away groceries loudly....and he didn't wake up.
Teething and recovering from Christmas vacation can really wear a boy out!
 So sweet!
