A Day at the Park

We go to LOTS of parks and I thought I knew EVERY park in the area!  We found out about one that I didn't even know was there even though I used to drive by it every day.  It turned out to be GREAT!
 Watermelon helped!
 Especially for Caleb!
I just can't choose a few photos this time so you get LOTS...
 Just love this boy!
 So happy, adventurous and daring!
Two boys with very different personalities and I love them both to pieces!
 Caleb's new favorite swing!
We were about ready to leave and they finally decided to go in the water! Love these pictures with so much personality!  Better up close though.
 So Funny!
So Happy!!!

Best Buddies this Summer

We've had a lot of fun this summer and these two are joined at the hip most of the time.  You can see their joy in many of the pictures!  Of course they have their moments, especially when Brady hit the two year old mark. :) Two 2 year olds for a few months!  But those screaming, yelling, "give-it-back," "it's MINE" moments pass by quickly and the love returns! :)
We tried out a book time at a fun toy store but haven't been back since it was pretty boring and these two need a lot of action!
They enjoyed the caboose outside 10x more than the story time inside...AND watching the light rail go by as well!
Home-made ice tray popsicles became the after-nap tradition!  YUM!! And healthy!
 We made lots of messes
 Made a box train
Which they sat in.  I promise I didn't tell them to just sit and stare. :) lol
ok, here's some fun. Notice how they have two boxes but choose to sit right next to each other.
Rockin' Out Time!  Caleb keeps trying to teach Brady how to hold the guitar but it hasn't helped yet.
This was full of sand, and I guess it looked fun to sit in.  The box broke right after this.
 More Yum! Very serious moments
Quiet, book time in the tent before nap time.
On our way to visit Daddy, we found a small airport in Cameron Park!  We even got to watch an old plane land.
Lots of random parks!  Some better than others.  This one was weird and seemed abandoned.
More results of the drought.  Not sure if you can tell how low the water is.  No wonder it was abandoned.  The water was so low and stagnant.  Pretty gross.  The geese have taken over the open areas...so poop everywhere.  Won't be back there again.
Some pretty parts though.
Hope that gives a little idea of our summer. More to come.

CALEB

This guy just keeps making me laugh.  Here's a few examples.
I usually just peak into his room before I head to bed to be sure he doesn't have books in his bed, his clothes off, or anything unexpected.  One night I peaked in and he I didn't see him. WHAT?  I came out and found him here.  I turned the light on to take a picture.  Sound asleep.  I guess the rug was more comfortable. :) I found it funny that we didn't even hear him or that he didn't say anything.
I don't really care if he draws on himself or me now and then, and he's only done it a few times.  This time he proclaimed that now HE was a man...hairy legs, mustache and all!  :)
Imagine the deep voice imitation saying, "I'm a man!"
He finds baby items in the storage closet and turns them into cars, boats or whatever seems fun!
Just Caleb!  Can't believe he's almost 3!

Summer Concerts in the Parks

We discovered the fun of going to all the park concerts this summer!  Caleb started to regularly ask if we could please "go to music" after we went to a couple.  Our favorite was the one every Friday night in the park by the library.
Once reason is because of the TRAIN RIDE at the same location!
Brady joined us one time so that his parents could have a night out.
Several friends from church also joined.  This is Scott, one of Caleb's buddies.
Even though Caleb might say that the train was the best part, it seemed to me that he actually enjoyed the music and dancing just as much, if not more!  We're already looking forward to next summer when the concerts in the parks return!
