Camping Theme!

I decided to start planning theme based activities for the boys now that Brady is older and can join in on some learning.  I should take a picture of the tri-fold board I made with a calendar, alphabet, shapes, colors, letter of the week and their names.  They have learned the days of the week song, and are getting pretty good at the months of the year.  I haven't been very consistent doing it since they got bored with it after a couple weeks. :)  Anyway, I really try to teach them and plan things since they aren't at a true preschool!  And this first theme was the BEST!!! So far! :) Camping!
Someone gave me this tent years ago.  I've never taken it camping but I've used it in almost every childcare setting I've been in!  We built a pretend fire pit and had our morning snack by it every day.
Of course we had to experiment with marshmallows!  Fun AND educational learning about texture!
REALLY hard to keep them out of their mouths! :)
More fun with squishy, floaty, yummy little white things!
 "NOW Ms. Cheryl?"
And SAND!!! Of course Brady dumped some on his head!  He loves getting reactions!
 Just a cutie pie.
Nothing to do with camping, but lots of fun on the trampoline!
 More cuteness
The trampoline has been great for Caleb to build his confidence, balance and ability to jump.
 And more siliness
Sleeping in the tent....and waking each other up, of course!   They wanted to pretend with me over and over and over and over and over again.
Snack time in the tent...Quinton always seems to know when food is around.
They LOVED the binoculars that we made, although they didn't last long since they dropped them in the water.
Clothes just can't stay on for long when camping. :)  I have the BEST picture of the boys peeing on a tree without any clothes but don't want to post it online.  SO FUNNY!
We made fishing poles and pretended to fish in the pool.
The poles didn't last long either.  Something about the boys being two...hmm.
We made sand castles, which also only lasted a second before STOMPING them down!
And last but not least...YUM! S'Mores!!!
Not over the fire, but in the microwave!  Winning end to a fun couple of weeks!
